Policy templates page

A policy template is a named, ordered list of rules (see Writing rules). Every organization starts with:

  • a Default template — the fallback for any employee with no explicit assignment, and
  • seeded vertical templates: Accounting & Finance, Financial Services, Government, Healthcare, HR & Recruiting, Legal, Technology.

You assign templates per employee on the Employees page; every device of theirs enforces the assignment automatically.

Templates are versioned and immutable: saving an edit appends a new version; nothing rewrites history. Every device whose employee is on that template picks the new version up automatically, usually within one check-in cycle. The Devices page shows each device’s convergence (up to date vs running vN / pending).

There is deliberately no per-device pinning. That is a feature twice over: nothing drifts out of sync, and a bad rule is corrected everywhere in seconds too.

The History action on each template lists every version; each device’s own History action shows which policy decisions have governed it over time.
