How do I set up my Sentry appliance?

Your Sentry appliance arrives pre-configured for your account. Setup usually takes under ten minutes.

What you need

• The Sentry appliance
• Power adapter and Ethernet cable (included)
• Your existing modem and router

Steps

1. Power off your modem and router. This is not always required, but it prevents IP conflicts during the handoff.
2. Connect the Sentry between your modem and router. Plug one Ethernet cable from the modem into the Sentry’s WAN port, and another from the Sentry’s LAN port into your router’s WAN port.
3. Power on the modem, then the Sentry, then the router. Wait about two minutes for each device to fully start.
4. Open the AstraLink dashboard. Your Sentry should appear as online within a few minutes.

If the Sentry does not come online, check that the cables are seated firmly and that the modem is in bridge mode if your ISP requires it. You can also contact support and we will walk through it with you.
